The deliverable, running right here
Both panels below are the real product, loaded with data from Tosche Station Outfitters, a fictional storefront we audited so you can click through a finished engagement.
A score you can take apart
Your report opens with a site-wide score out of 100 and a plain-language band. The ring is not decoration: each segment is a WCAG functional area you can open to read which rules failed, how many elements are affected, and why that area carries risk.
Try this
- Click a ring segment to open that category.
- Read the risk explanation written for non-developers.
- Toggle the third-party estimate to see your score without vendor embeds.
Accessibility health
Accessibility health is fair. Address amber and red segments to move into the good range.
Click or tap a segment on the ring, or pick a category below, to pin its details. The faint arc is room left to reach a perfect score of 100; the solid color shows your current category score.
No known third-party embeds (apps, widgets, iframes we recognize) were found in this scan's page results. The toggle unlocks when embeds like Yotpo or YouTube show up in axe findings.
No accessibility statement found
Publish a page (for example, /pages/accessibility) so customers know how to request support or report barriers.
- 5 critical issues (Critical impact on assistive technology users).
- 7 serious issues that block or frustrate common tasks.
- 23 automated findings across 6 scanned pages. Site score is the average of per-page scores.
- No dedicated accessibility statement page was found.
This score reflects automated findings only. It is not legal advice, a compliance certification, or a substitute for manual WCAG testing. Automated tools catch roughly 30 to 50 percent of WCAG 2.x AA issues. The rest requires human judgment.
The part a scanner cannot do
Automated rules find missing alt text and low contrast. They cannot tell you that your cart drawer traps keyboard focus or that closing it drops the user back at the top of the page. A Cascadia auditor works a WCAG criterion checklist by hand with a keyboard and a screen reader, and records what was tested.
Try this
- Compare a fail row to a pass row: both carry the auditor's note.
- Note the WCAG criterion and level on every row, ready for procurement.
Modals trap focus and restore on close
WCAG 2.4.3 Focus Order (Level A)
criticalFailAuditor note: Opening the cart drawer from a collection page leaves focus behind the overlay, and closing it does not restore focus to the trigger. No automated rule can see this.
Required fields are indicated beyond color alone
WCAG 3.3.2 Labels or Instructions (Level A)
moderateFailAuditor note: The contact form marks required fields with color only. There is no text marker and no aria-required.
All functionality available via keyboard
WCAG 2.1.1 Keyboard (Level A)
PassAuditor note: Every interactive control in the browse and cart flow is reachable and operable from a keyboard.
DOM reading order matches visual layout
WCAG 1.3.2 Meaningful Sequence (Level A)
PassAuditor note: NVDA and VoiceOver announce content in the order it reads visually, including the filter sidebar.
4 of 32 criteria shown. The full checklist and the auditor notes for every criterion are in the sample engagement.

- A signed VPAT or Accessibility Conformance Report for procurement is a separate engagement.

Common questions
The free scan is automated only and samples a subset of pages (always home, cart, search, contact, one collection, and one product page). The audit adds manual testing of cart, search, checkout, and dynamic UI, a human WCAG checklist, a developer-hour estimate, and deliverables formatted for legal review. When your Shopify store is connected, paid scans also inventory every product image alt in admin, not only the product pages Playwright opened.
